quick heads-up is when I did it I recorded this in
24 frames per second which is a big no-no because
essentially what I had was 12 frames that were
overexposed and the other 12 frames that were
underexposed essentially I had 12 frames in a 24
frames per second timeline which created a bunch
of motion blur the cool thing about Magic Lantern is
that you’re able to record in 48 frames per second
which now gives you 24 frames overexposed 24
frames underexposed giving you this perfect HDR
movie that looks absolutely stunning now if you’d
want to fiddle with changing the frame rates there’s
ISO
another mode called dual ISO not to be confused
with dual native ISO this actually works more like
the aerial exa mini sensor or even the brand-new
canon c300 Mark 3 with their dual gain output so
essentially what’s happening is not like HDR where
it’s taking one frame overexposed another frame
underexposed and it’s merging those together this
is actually doing it all in one frame you’ll still need
to use the MLV software to process this but then
you’re left with this high dynamic range image and
better low noise performance now understand that
magic lantern is hack software so you might
encounter a few glitches here and there and I
mean that’s ok because the community is
proactive and they’re constantly updating things
and in fact just recently they updated it so that
you can record in 5 point 6 K ROM there is a caveat
you can do it at 24 frames per second it’s only at
3.8 frames per second it’s still usable in certain
cases in fact we’ve been showing you some
footage from Janis kolinsky which is a creator
and his stuff looks phenomenal as you guys can
see here and hopefully in the near future they can
unlock where we can at 24 frames per second now

that I was going to show you a great place where

a mark 3 or any other camera or even accessories

roughly around $500 and personally I love tinkering
with cameras like this and it also opens up to
creators that don’t want to spend a lot of money
and have the ability to film in RAW and even other
features I mean there’s a lot of fundamentals that
you can learn from a camera like this and of
