Apple glasses it’s finally gonna be a reality in 2022

why many of you are gonna want to buy Apple glasses in 2022

the features, Apple Glasses, they’ll definitely include,
others we’d like to see, the earliest possible release
date and when we’ll most likely actually see them.

Let’s start with a brief background on smart glasses.
Google first released their Google Glass Explorer Edition
in 2013, which was a limited edition product.
Max wanted to test these out but he couldn’t because
they were invite-only. And not only that, if you did get
the opportunity, you’d still have to pay a massive $1,500
to do so. That’s because Google intended to later
improve and develop them into a final product for
the masses in 2014, but as you know that never
happened as Google sort of paused the project
and ended up canceling it altogether in 2015, which
I’ll give you my opinion why in a bit.

They had a trackpad on the side, a 720p 5mp camera,
and a liquid crystal silicon panel with an LED display.
It had all its smart features just on the right side of
the glasses and would display your apps and functions
in a box in the upper right corner of your vision.
At the time it only had a few features, but they were
things that were actually useful in the real world.
It could take pictures and record videos, send text
messages and make phone calls, use google and
google hangouts, and get directions. Of course they
never finalized the public product, and have since only
worked on other models for professional and business
use.

Design Apple Glasses in 2022

Now it’s 8 years later and we’re finally getting Smart
Glasses, this time, from Apple.
So let’s get right into everything we know In November
of 2019, it was leaked that Apple is looking to release
an AR/VR headset in 2022, and following that, a pair of
AR glasses in 2023. The Headset is basically supposed
to be a much slimmer version of the Oculus Quest
Headset, but we’re focusing on the glasses.
Newer rumors from Jon Prosser have mentioned that
they could come as soon as 2021, but most agree that
late 2022 at the earliest is much more realistic.
Let’s get into the design and what’s most exciting
about Apple Glasses, and what might be a major
disappointment

Leaks have shown that the Apple Glasses will look
like normal glasses, similar to Ray-Ban’s, according to
Jon Prosser who claims to have seen then in person,
and said they look “Sleek as hell” This alone will make
them much more acceptable compared to other smart
glasses, especially google glass, which lacked lenses
and had a big chunk hanging off of the right side, and
people who wore them got referred to as “Glassholes”.
There are also rumors of Apple working on a limited
steve jobs heritage edition model, which would be
super expensive, like the limited edition 18k gold
Apple Watch, and have a design similar to steve jobs
iconic glasses, but I have to say agree with mark
german that this is highly unlikely just based on tech
alone unless Apple will put a frame around them like
Snapchat’s latest specs What’s interesting is that Tim
Cook himself said that Apple Glasses could eventually
replace the iPhone.

Apple glasses you can have info available without blocking your vision

And they’d have to look good in order for that to
happen The biggest design change that needs to
happen is to the display. We can’t have a thick
chunk hanging over your eye like google glass,
and thankfully we know that Apple glasses
will not only display information on the lenses
themselves, but it will be on both lenses meaning
you can have more info available without blocking
your vision The UI is called starboard, based off of
springboard for iso, which is basically what runs your
home screen and widgets on your iPhone, so we know
the interface will be clean, simple, and easy to use.
On top of this, Jon said that other people won’t know
that the glasses are digital unless they have them on,

meaning the display will be invisible to others which
is awesome, so they won’t stand out to people.
One of the biggest questions is how you will interact
with the glasses. The most obvious ways are
interacting by touching the frame just like the Google
Glass, but that limits what you can do, the second is
by using voice commands.
This gives you a lot of capabilities and it actually works
quite well with AirPods, but if you’ve ever been around a
group of people and started calling out to Siri you’ll know
how awkward this is, and it’s also spotty in loud environments.
The next one could be hand gestures thanks to special
built-in sensors, but walking around doing minority report
like gestures would be really disturbing.

Apple states that the device could be controlled with eye

Lastly, we have the craziest method which we
actually have a lot of proof for it, and that’s eye-tracking.
A patent filed by Apple has recently been found which
states that the device could be controlled with eye
movements, blinks, and stares, and that this technique
proves for a more natural and efficient interface.
My only concern is if people don’t see anything digital
on your glasses, you’ll be walking down the street with
your eyes twitching around which would be super weird,
but let me know what you think and what method would
work best Before I talk about downsides let’s cover
a feature that Apple is really counting on, which was
previously leaked as a new 3D sensor system.

This turned out to basically be the same set of lidar
sensors as in the new iPhone 12 Pro’s, and is supposed
to be on the right-hand side of the glasses LiDAR stands
for light detection and ranging, and basically uses laser
beams to measure distance. That’s how it can be used to
map rooms and improve portrait mode photos.
It’s also the tech that’s used in many self-driving cars
and this LiDAR scanner is the main tech surrounding
the premise of AR in the Apple Glasses.
This means that apps can interact with the real
world instead of just showing you info on the corner
of the screen. For example, if you’re using maps
an arrow can show up where you actually need to turn
and names of shops or your destination could show
upright where it’s at It will also make things like
Find my AirPods more accurate, even guiding you
to their exact location, and it will do the same with
things marked with Apple’s upcoming Airbags.

Apple glasses not including cameras because of privacy concerns

One exciting thing is that the LiDAR scanner in
the glasses could also be used to help people see better
in lower light conditions, kinda like night vision which is
awesome But the weird thing is that there’s talk of
the glasses not including cameras because
of Privacy concerns. I understand the privacy aspect
but this doesn’t make any sense for me personally as
photo and video recording was one of the coolest things
about Google Glass, allowing you to capture moments in
your life completely hands-free while being
fully present instead of staring at a phone.
On Top of that, you get a really cool first-person
perspective, so when you watch your video back
it’s almost like seeing it first hand and reliving those
moments. this would be one of the biggest selling points,
and with these coming out in 2022 instead of 2013,

the photo and video quality would be very good,
although google glass looked great for that time.
Let me know how much having a camera would
matter for you down in the comments.
And in case you’re wondering, yes, you will also
be able to purchase these glasses with an included
prescription, However, a patent shows that Apple
is planning on eventually implementing auto-adjusting
technology into their glasses, most likely their
second-gen glasses that will basically automatically
adjust the lenses to your own personal prescription.
This is exciting to me, as someone who not only wears
glasses but has a horrible vision and basically can’t
see anything without them With smart glasses
sounding so cool and convenient

why did Google cancel their Glass?

I think that there were two main reasons. First off
was battery life. This was the biggest downside
with them only lasting about 3 and a half hours.
For Apple glasses to succeed they need to last all
day like the apple watch and Apple glasses are
currently in the second stage of development
where they are working on making them lighter
and improving battery life the second reason is the price
Google Glass came in at that shocking $1500 and I
don’t think google could get the component costs low
enough to match what consumers were willing to pay
According to Prosser, Apple glasses are likely gonna
cost around $500 and a bit more with an included
prescription, which is in a similar price range as
the Apple watch series 6 I think it’ll be a long time

before Apple glasses replace iPhones, but for now
they’re more of an alternative option to an apple
watch, and it’ll do most if not all the things the watch
can without you having to raise your wrist. Because
of that, I believe that Apple glasses will be a much
better option, which is why a lot of people will end
up buying them in 2022.
Would you buy Apple Glasses if they had these
features for $500? Let me know your thoughts
in the comment
s section below.
